Every day I don’t work is a vacation.

Every day I work, I’m putting ’em ahead.

Carefree. Like we workin’, but dancin’

She dancin’, and she got caught!

Like after killin’ her set, and dancin’ to music

Killed it, but I need to go outside.

And breathe.

Passing out waters in encampments alone before open mics.

Looking for stuff to do on Google.

I spent 4 hours on my phone.

A few years ago, I donated all my formal shirts.

Now, they are back in my life.

No technical experience is necessary.

Who do I do it for?

When my family cooks, I don’t need to buy more food.

My parents love feeding the fam.

Time is too precious to be on the screen every day.

I remember only having 3k savings after college, 2019.

I remember having 19k in my savings, 2020.

I remember my tires gave out on the freeway and my S8 not working after I left HipHopforChange. I waved for help!

A person pulled to the side of the road, and let me use their phone, so I can call AAA to replace my tires. The person didn’t want the money. So I tipped the AAA workers, a blue hunnid, for saving my life. They were genuinely surprised. Then, they gave me directions to 880 S.

I remember crying with LaToya and Shauni asking why is it always us that have to save our community?

“It’s not about a white picket fence…”

“Push the button”

“Write a story where we don’t drown”

“Just tryna eat my salad, and not experience racism”

“Don’t think we’re built for that.” (Therapy)

When government fails to provide housing, organizations like East Oakland Collective uses their own resources, and help their community.

Fania Davis wrote to me, as a warrior of peace.

Uncle Bobby took time to show up on my podcast and talk about his nephew, Oscar Grant.

Augie’s parents thanked me for speaking at a city council meeting.

Gayle told me to keep telling my stories.

Larry Itliong said your vote counts, and where you spend your money counts. 4 to 4

6 to 6; I got you, ancestor. you ain’t gotta say nothin’

I write this for the person living out their van.

You ain’t seen me pull up tho, angels got me.

Like being blessed to witness Chinaka Hodge recite poems. 🕊

I remember all my family from Ferguson, hoping they good. That’s love.
