Not where you can generate the most value/ revenue but what’s your next passion?
It’s February 2022.
The last time I went on vacation was in 2015.
This is the first time I have taken a vacation since graduating college in 2018, where I took 9 months off after completing my degree in Communication.
In between 2018–2022, was working various jobs, as a HipHop4Change canvasser, Whole Foods Dishwasher, Amazon Prime Shopper, Nordstrom Warehouse Associate, and recently a Guest Experience Representative for the Golden State Warriors.
This is my first vacation as a person who graduated college and is now working.
Also note, I’m coming off finishing the Digital Marketing program from Udacity, and a lot more to celebrate; like my niece turning two years old and going to Disneyland!
There are bigger things than work, like spending time with your family and having those memories.
It’s also nice to take some time off and relax.

Build a career you love: (Career capital theory)
- Skill acquisition. Get really good at things- deliberate practice. What’s valuable in your current career/job area? Train to get better. Specific activities that are designed to stretch you past where you’re comfortable on things you know that are valuable.
2. Use those skills as leverage to shape your career towards the things that resonate. Fix in your mind a clear image of what you want your life to be like. Work backward from the lifestyle you want. Become so good, you can’t be ignored. Requires that you train.
3. Over time, cultivate a career that is a real source of meaning and satisfaction for you. Don’t obsess too much about what job you take, any job that matches your interest is gonna give you good options when you get better. Train like an athlete to systematically improve skills. Use the career capital to push towards things that resonate. What do you want your life to be like?
